Founding Member: Frostburg State University

Frostburg State University is one of the 26 Founding Members of the MSM Higher Ed Pathways initiative.
Frostburg State University (FSU) is a proud member of the University System of Maryland (USM). Its campus is located on the Appalachian highlands of Western Maryland, covering 260 acres of its namesake, Frostburg, Maryland. It is the only four-year institution of USM west of the Baltimore-Washington corridor in the United States.
Founded in 1898, Frostburg State University prides itself on its brand of experiential education. It offers 47 undergraduate majors and over 80 specialized programs of study, 16 graduate degree programs and a doctorate in education. Academic programs are offered through its three colleges: the College of Business, the College of Education, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. FSU also offers Doctoral Programs, Master’s Programs, and Certificate Programs. FSU is a comprehensive, student-centered teaching and learning institution dedicated to student success. It focuses on experiential learning and individual attention, preparing future leaders to meet the challenges of a complex and changing global society. The institution remains closely connected to its community with a focus on regional and statewide economic and workforce development.
The university welcomes students of all ages, economic classes, ethnicities, gender identities, races, religions, sexual orientation and national origins, and its Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is committed to a campus environment which values diversity and respect. The educational institution regards this as a “fundamental goal of higher education.” Through an articulation agreement with MSM Higher Ed, Frostburg State University is now part of its global consortium as an MSM Higher Ed Pathways Founding Member. MSM Higher Ed Pathways is designed to prepare students for entry or advanced standing at multiple universities in study destinations for international education. Students who have started their programs through MSM Higher Ed Pathways delivery centres (Foundation Schools) close to their homes may choose to proceed to complete their degree at FSU in the United States.
